WELCOME TO THE DRUMMER FACTORY !!

Our aim is to motivate and educate drummers old and new via online tutorials and private one to one drum lessons at The Drummer Factory studio in London.

“When I was a kid I wanted to be a drummer. Why? well drumming seemed like a cool thing to do at the time. Later I realised that there was more to it then just being cool. I’m not sure why music makes us feel the way we do, its still kind of a mystery. The more I played, the more I didn’t want to stop, and the more I learned, the more I was thirsty for more. All it takes is some curiosity, abit of hard work and a point in the right direction.”

Sass graduated from the Academy of Contemporary Music in 2004. With a BA Honours Degree in Drums under his belt he has since been establishing himself as a session drummer around London. From recording sessions for films, to performing Live, his experience in all aspects of drumming has given him the ability to assist drummers in finding a clear way along their musical development.

Have been taking lessons with Sass for over a year now, and have improved greatly over that period. Lessons are always varied and interesting, combining technique, music reading and learning new songs. Definitely recommend to all levels.

The Drummer Factory is fantastic value for money. I don’t know how many other drum tutors would go to the effort of tailoring a bespoke curriculum for each of their students. Sass gets the rudiments down and makes sure his students know exactly what they need to know in order to become a solid drummer, but he also allows them to lead some of the classes and express themselves in ways that benefit them the most during lessons. Whether you want to learn Jazz or Metal, Classic Rock or Reggae, Blues or Hip Hop, The Drummer Factory can teach them all with proficiency and flair. I’d never need another teacher.

My son and I have been taking lessons with Sass for nearly a year now, and I have no hesitation in recommending him. Lessons with Sass are very well structured to cover a range of skills and techniques, and there is a very clear progression from one lesson to the next. Sass has a great understanding of music, and can play many different instruments. He brings this variety to the drum lessons ensuring that his teaching is practical, fun and highly motivating.

My son, Hector has been having drum lessons with Sass for two years now. Hector has very severe autism, which makes it difficult to teach him anything. I wanted him to learn in a disciplined and structured way, rather than just “Bash” around. Sass has been very flexible and creative in his approach, working up from basic rhythms on the bongos to playing popular songs on the electric drum kit. He has been good at setting Hector new challenges and goals, whilst maintaining his motivation. Even when he is having a bad day, Hector loves going to his drum lessons. Sass’s ability to play guitar and keyboards has made the lessons great fun for Hector who loves it when they play a song together. He has already achieved much more than we expected when we started out and Hector now astonishes friends and family with his drumming. What comes across as much as his skill, is his obvious enjoyment of it. It has become a huge part of his life.
